How will construction affect scheduled events? (Updated 12-15-25)

  • Construction Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (except some state and federal holidays).
    • Noisy work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Construction will not be paused or postponed for events.
  • Event Scheduling:
    • Events during these construction years will only take place on weekday (Monday to Friday) evenings after 5:30 pm, all-day on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays that fall on a Monday or Friday. No event will be allowed to be held for one day during the week if a holiday falls on a weekday.
    • Move-in activity can occur during the weekdays after 5:30 p.m. and must be coordinated in advance with the Hawaii Convention Center team. Daytime construction noise should be expected. Rehearsals can be scheduled Monday through Friday but must begin after 5:30 p.m.  Access to certain areas, including escalators, may be restricted.  Any exceptions to the move-in time before 5:30pm must be approved by the General Manager and based upon construction activity in the building.

    • For safety reasons, access to the lobby during move-in should be through the loading docks only, as there will be no public lobby access. Please coordinate all move-in activity with the Hawai‘i Convention Center team.
    • Rehearsals can only occur after 5:30 pm due to safety reasons.
    • Certain escalators will be unavailable during 2026 and 2027
  • Local event organizers should coordinate directly with HCC management for scheduling needs.
  • For the most current event schedule, visit HCC’s Events Calendar, which is updated on a rolling 12-month basis.
