Enjoy a special screening of “Soul Surfer,” and live entertainment with special guest artists Kapena

HONOLULU – Enjoy an evening of entertainment for the whole family at the Hawaii Convention Center’s (HCC) free, monthly entertainment series on Fri., April 29, 2016.

Residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy an evening of entertainment sponsored by Securitas. This month’s edition features live performances by Kapena and The Easies, along with delicious culinary creations and one-of-a-kind handmade crafts at the Sunset Mele Market Place. There will also be a special screening of “Soul Surfer” beginning at 7:30 p.m. in HCC’s Kalkaua Ballroom.

“We’re so excited to host Kapena and The Easies this month at Sunset Mele. This event provides us with a unique opportunity to showcase Hawaii’s local talent, whether it be through the band performances, food vendors, or artisans at our market place.” said Teri Orton, HCC general manager.

Local artisans will feature beautifully handmade arts and crafts available for purchase at the Sunset Mele Marketplace.

The schedule of activities for the evening is as follows:

4:30 p.m.         Doors open, event begins, featuring the Sunset Mele Market Place food booths, artisans and more
5:00 p.m.         Live entertainment by The Easies
6:00 p.m.         Live entertainment by Kapena
7:30 p.m.         Screening of the feature film, “Soul Surfer”
9:00 p.m.         Event pau (finished)

Admission to “Sunset Mele on the Rooftop” is free. Parking at the Hawaii Convention Center for the event is $5 per vehicle. Outside food, beverages and coolers will not be allowed, however, guests are welcome to bring low beach chairs, mats and blankets.
