HONOLULU – More than 850 delegates arrived on Oahu this week for the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) 62nd Annual Meeting at the Hawaii Convention Center, Oct. 28-31.
Unique in its kind, the educational event gathers a variety of physicians specifically focused on the research, diagnosis and clinical management of patients with muscle and nerve diseases. The convention is forecasted to generate a total of $4,013,519 in spending and $389,311 in state tax revenue.
“It is a great honor to host AANEM’s annual meeting this year at the Hawaii Convention Center and we are excited to having some of the nation’s top neurologists and rehabilitation physicians here in the islands to share important research and best practices with one another,” said Randy Baldemor, chief operating officer of the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA). “We are confident Hawaii will ideally compliment and fulfill AANEM’s goal of creating an intimate atmosphere for its multi-specialty cross training offerings for attendees.”
Conference participants have the opportunity to learn about cutting edge advances from researchers, as well as the chance to advance personal technique through hands-on workshops and seminars addressing topics such as genetic issues in neuromuscular disease and a neuromuscular update in autoimmune disorders.
