Hawaii is a tapestry of sky and sea, lush mountains and brightly colored flowers. It is a place whose culture is unique not just in America but also in the world.

The Hawaii Convention Center shares all of these things. Open to the outdoors, inviting the scent of flowers inside to mingle with guests. Native Hawaiian plants are in abundance. Landscaped grounds, terraces, lanais and courtyards account for more than six acres of the 10-acre site.

Inside, over $2 million of original Hawaiian art includes paintings of volcanoes, mountains, ocean, waterfalls, taro, and fishponds displayed alongside images of Hawaiian royalty, gods, and myths. While above, soaring rooftop canopies recall images of Polynesian sailing canoes.

User-friendly Design
The four-story Center was designed with input from convention planners to ensure that it offers the utmost in convenience, flexibility, and state of the art features.

The ground floor houses the 35,000 square-foot registration lobby, which leads directly into the exhibit hall. The second floor is exclusively for parking. The third floor contains forty-seven meeting rooms plus two presentation theaters with tiered seating. The fourth floor features the 35,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom and adjacent 2.5-acre rooftop garden terrace.

A Hawaiian sense of place throughout the Center, advanced technological services and superior food service are among the many features, which distinguish the Hawaii Convention Center.

An exhibit hall designed for accessibility and flexibility
The 200,000 square-foot ground floor exhibition hall is located just beyond the Center's main entry and registration lobby, to maximize its accessibility to delegates and exhibitors. The entire hall can be dedicated to a single purpose, or can be divided into three halls, two of 60,000 square-feet and one at 80,000 square-feet, each with its own access to the registration lobby and truck bays.

Trucks are able to drive directly onto the exhibit floor for faster loading and unloading. Each hall is equipped with a show manager's office, which overlooks the show floor.

Easy access to ample parking
The second floor garage has 700 parking stalls. Two entrances and exits on Kahakai Street and an extra exit onto Kalakaua Avenue speed up departures at the conclusion of an event. There is a special drop-off area for taxicabs and small buses located near the registration lobby. And, a driveway crosses the second level of the grand staircase by the Ala Wai Promenade where VIP's can arrive in style.

Meeting rooms for every gathering
The third floor has 107,426 square feet of meeting space, which can be configured into 47 meeting rooms, plus two high-tech multi-media presentation theaters with tiered seating for 320 and 472, respectively. Plus, the largest meeting room has a seating capacity of nearly 1,200 seats.

The meeting level connects via banks of escalators to the main lobby and to the Ala Wai Promenade by an opened trellised concourse decorated with original Hawaiian art. It creates a pleasant environment where delegates can enjoy the cool breezes in shaded seating areas during breaks between meetings.

The Grand Ballroom and Rooftop Garden
The beautifully appointed fourth floor ballroom offers over 35,000 square-feet of space under its 25-foot ceiling. It can be divided into three rooms, hosting three functions simultaneously each with it own food service.

The ballroom's pre-function lobby is adjacent to and expanded by a 2.5-acre roof garden terrace.
